MLG adds NBA executive to board of directors

Major League Gaming has announced the appointment of Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey to the organization’s board of directors.

Morey has worked in the NBA for a decade, with seven years overseeing the Rockets and three years as SVP Operations for the Boston Celtics.

On MLG’s board, Morey will work to build the group "into a mainstream sports media property."

"As a personal fan of eSports and a competitive gamer myself, I have been closely following the growth and evolution of MLG for years," Morey said.

"MLG has the potential to be one of the biggest sports media businesses in the future. I look forward to working with the MLG team as they continue to be pioneers in the digital world."

MLG also announced it has hired Greg Chisholm as CFO and Allen De La Cruz as SVP Engineering. Chisholm will work on management and reporting, along with overseeing financial strategy, while De La Cruz will focus on online content MLG: Play – the company’s multiplayer gaming platform.
