A new mobile game accelerator has launched in Australia to provide funding for iOS and Android developers.
Based in Brisbane, Right Pedal Studios is now taking applications for a package that includes funding support of up to $50,000, office space, mentorship and an alumni program.
The scheme is specifically designed to help fund small teams of two-to-five developers in exchange for equity in each title released.
Mentors at the accelerator include Halfbrick co-founder Dan Vogt, Kixeye product manager Pras Moorthy and Defiant Development co-founder Morgan Jaffit.
Partners on the program also include Griffith University and Pitcher Partners, which will provide access to services and goods for each developer.
“Australia is home to some of the greatest mobile game developers in the world and we’re excited to help up and coming developers reach their potential.” said River City Labs founder Steve Baxter, who has seeded the project.
Applications are open to Australia residents, with the first teams entering production in February and March.
