PS Vita – 11 games for European launch

SCEE this evening revealed more details about the February 22nd launch of its new handheld games device.

PlayStation Vita will come with 11 first-party launch games the firm announced at a London briefing this evening.

The firm’s Sony Worldwide Studios Europe Michael Denny claimed that the line-up is one of the best launch line ups of any games console, ever launched”.

The confirmed games include two freshly-announced titles – racer MotorStorm RC (from the series’ creator Evolution Studios) and shooter Unit 13 (from SOCOM developer Zipper).

Nine other titles round out the launch.

These are: Uncharted: Golden AbyssWipEout 2048, Reality Fighters, Little Deviants, ModNation Racers: Road Trip, Everybody’s Golf, Escape Plan, Top Darts and Hustle Kings.

Third-party games from other publishers will join those games on launch day, Feb 22nd.

Yesterday, the firm announced Vodafone as 3G launch partner for the version of the large touchscreen device that uses mobile networks.

In the official announcement Denny said: We’re counting down the days to the launch of PS Vita. This launch is something we are all so excited about at PlayStation as that’s when we can see PS Vita where it was made to be – in the hands of gamers.”

Sony also this evening reiterated the social and connectivity functions of the device, plus listed the confirmed third-party games.
