SCVNGR teams up with GameStop

SCVNGR has announced it has signed a new partnership with US retail giant GameStop.

The deal has been described as the biggest the company has made with a retailer to date, according to TechCrunch. It will see GameStop promoting the location-based mobile game at each of its 6,000 locations.

Initially, the partnership will focus on the upcoming launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops, rewarding players with a special COD/GameStop badge when they check in at the retailer’s stores.

SCVNGR CEO Seth Priebatsch expects GameStop will also use SCVNGR in future promotional campaigns.

This deal coincides with SCVNGR’s announcement that business included in the game will now be able to set their own challenges through Builder Profiles.
