Shahid Ahmad is leaving PlayStation UK next month

After ten years, Sony’s UK Strategic Content boss Shahid Ahmad is departing the company.

Ahmad took to his blog to announce that he would be leaving the company to return to games development on December 1st 2015.

He started working for Sony in 2005 as a technical account manager, before rising through the ranks to take on the role of PlayStation’s Strategic Content director in 2012.

Here he helped Sony develop its indie offering, signing the likes of Thomas Was Alone, Hotline Miami and Velocity 2X.

This has been the most rewarding period of my professional life,” Ahmad said.

I have had personal highs and lows and the company has supported me throughout. The last few years in particular have brought so many professional highs, that it’s been hard to take it all in.”
