Finnish developer working on 3 digital titles, wants to be a â??small boutique publisherâ??

Super Stardust dev lines up new project trio

Housemarque, the Finland-based outfit responsible for Super Stardust HD, has revealed that it’s currently working on three new projects.

The group has also explained that the new developments are planned to launch on a variety of systems; one being a PSN title, another a possible multiplatform game, the third a self-published affair called Rope.

Speaking to Gamasutra, studio CEO Ilari Kuittinen said that the PSN exclusive game will be a continuation of the team’s strong relationship with Sony, adding that more details of the game are expected to arrive at this year’s GamesCom event in Cologne.

“We are doing also currently our first multiplatform game,” he said, “for a leading publisher. Again, something different from the past. We haven’t done this kind of a game genre before.”

The group is also embarking on self-publishing with its third property; a physics-based puzzle title called Rope.

The firm doesn’t quite yet know which system that rope will boot up on, but Kuittinen is open to possibilities. He says that the game may arrive on both PSN and Xbox Live, but hasn’t ruled out the possibility of delivering the title via WiiWare or the iPhone’s App Store.

“We hope to eventually be a small boutique publisher, releasing things ourselves,” he added.
