Boutiq teams up with ex-LucasArts designer to establish IF Games

Swiss animation outfit opens game studio

Swiss animation house Boutiq has opened a new games studio in conjunction with ex-LucasArts designer Bill Tiller.

Named IF Games, the Zurich studio is currently at work on its first title, iPad adventure game Perils of Man. Perils of Man will be released in two-parts, and includes input from Hollywood screenwriter Stephen Beckner.

"We look forward to future projects and apply all the things we’ve learned on this journey to our newly founded game company IF Games," said Philipp Zünd, CEO of boutiq animation studio and IF Games co-founder.

“For our debut game, we decided on the adventure genre,” added Boutiq and IF Games co-founder and creative director Michael Huber, adding: “Games that remind us of the ones we played when growing up ourselves.”

Boutiq is an established name in the advertising and TV animation business, having worked with numerous high profile clients such as Nestle, Orange and Puma, and been commissioned ny the likes of Saatchi and Saatchi.

Perils of Man: Episode 1 will be available in October this year.
