Top Gear heads to new Forza 3

Microsoft has stepped up a gear in the race for Top Gear content against Sony’s Gran Turismo 5.

The Forza Motorsport 3 Ultimate Collection re-release will come with a code that allows users to download Top Gear videos, an Xbox Live theme and a car pack.

There will be 90 minutes of Top Gear footage available for players to download when the game is released on October 29th. New vehicles in ‘Stig’s Garage Pack’ include the Koenigsegg CCX, Lexus LFA and Mercedes SLS AMG.

It was previously announced that the Top Gear track will appear as a playable course in Sony’s PS3 racer Gran Turismo 5, which arrives on November 3rd.

As part of the deal between Microsoft and the BBC, the Top Gear team will work with developer Turn 10 to integrate the Top Gear brand into future Forza games.

It’s incredibly exciting to be teaming up with such a big-name game,” said Top Gear’s creative director Andy Wilman.

Turn 10’s franchise director Dan Greenawalt added: Bringing together Top Gear and Forza Motorsport is a natural fit.

Top Gear is all about automotive passion and playing around with cars, which is exactly what we deliver with the Forza Motorsport games. We are looking forward to collaborating with their team to bring some of what they do so well on TV to our game design process.”
