Up to 50 companies from local region set to attend exhibition

Wales Games Development Show to spotlight emerging industry

Wales Interactive is to host the annual Wales Games Development Show on Wednesday as it looks to shine a spotlight in the country’s emerging game industry.

Taking place at the Millennium Centre in Cardiff, the event will play host to an exhibition featuring up to 50 companies from the game development and publishing sectors. Representatives from universities and the local film and TV industries are also set to attend.

There will also be a number of speakers at the event, including keynote speaker Ian Livingstone, Rogue Vector technology director Richard Griffiths, Mudvark’s Rhys Thomas and Ukie head of communications Dan Wood.

The show will also host BAFTA in Wales lectures, workshops throughout the day, master classes from the BBC and a BAFTA Awards ceremony for the British Academy Wales Award for Games.

Last year’s event attracted more than 350 attendees and 30 exhibitors.

The Wales Games Development Show 2013 will take place on June 26th at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff.
