Credit crunch: Analyst opinion, part three

The credit crunch will undoubtedly impact non-essential consumer spending.

With consumers more pressed then before due to rising fuel, energy and food prices any non-essential spending is bound to be under scrutiny more than previously.

However, the games market is performing so well at present and is unlikely to feel the effects of the credit crunch will have this year.

It will dampen demand, but the fact remains that the market currently has a strong selection of hardware and software either on release or soon to be released and the benefit of this to the market will far outweigh any potential negative impact from the credit crunch, for the time being at least.
