10TH ANNUAL /DEV/NULL/NETHACK TOURNAMENT BEGINNING MIDNIGHT HALLOWEEN

/dev/null/nethack (at<http://nethack.devnull.net>), believed to be the longest-running gaming tournament on the Internet, returns at midnight on Halloween.

OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA 2008-10-31:

At midnight (California time) hundreds of gamers from every continent will begin a month-long competition in one of the oldest and most difficult compter games ever published when the annual /dev/null/nethack Tournament begins its 10th year.

Players will compete for over 30 trophies ranging from First Ascension, for the first player to beat the game, to Most Unique Deaths, awared to the player who dies in the most unique ways during the Tournament; in addition to the competitive trophies, rankings are also awarded to recognize various levels of progress through the game.
