Munich, Germany, March 01, 2012 – The International Mobile Gaming Awards (IMGA) were presented in Barcelona this afternoon. ProSiebenSat.1 Games not only acted as sponsor, but also supplied the main prize: a ProSiebenSat.1 network media package at a value of 400,000 euros for the "Grand Prix“ winner Infinity Blade II by Chair Entertainment. Infinity Blade II is an action role-playing game for iOS mobile devices.
All other winners in six different categories also receive media packages, each of them worth 100,000 euros: Sprinkle by Mediocre AB („Best Casual Game“), Charadium II by On5 („Best Mobile Social Game“), Meatspace Invasion by C4M / Mekensleep („Best Real World Game“), Touchgrind BMX by Illusion Labs AB („Best Sports Game“), Infinity Blade II by Chair Entertainment („Excellent In Game Play“) und Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP by Superbrothers, Capybara Games Inc. and Jim Gurthry („Most Innovative Game“).
The IMGA is the leading award worldwide for the best mobile games in the mobile gaming industry. The media package provided by ProSiebenSat.1 Games gives the seven winners access to all the media power of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group. The IMGA was introduced in 2004 with support from Autodesk, Criterion, Euroméditerranée, Fathammer, Ideaworks 3D, Iomo, Intel, Nokia, NVIDIA, and Orange. In the past seven years, over 1,500 mobile games from more than 52 different countries have been reviewed. The entrants are PhD students, researchers, artists, freelance developers, and the top 10 of the world's leading publishers and developers of mobile games.
