EDINBURGH, Scotland, 20th August - Independent educational game developer TigerFace Games will release collaborative multiplayer title for two Equator on iPad on the 23rd of August.
Equator is set on a tiny planet inhabited by North and South, who must work together to balance the planet and keep the season turning. Played on a single tablet device, players use varying sets of numbers and mathematical operators to create a calculation with the same answer as that of the other player.
Set across four seasons, Equator includes all levels of mental arithmetic skills from addition and subtraction all the way up to brackets, division and multiplication. Promoting collaborative learning between kids, but suitable for players aged 5-105, the game encourages communication through active discussion of tactics and even swapping numbers between sides of the Globe.
A comprehensive list of achievement Medals gives players goals to aim for, and an in-game Leaves currency system rewards players for using their brains to create more complex sums with bigger numbers! Leaves are used to buy a wide array of in-game hats and costumes: do you choose the Top Hat for some added class, or beat the cold with a fuzzy Russian Snow Hat?
With seasonal updates for hats and costumes, as well as other features, already planned, Equator is set to deliver long-term rewards for children aged 5 and up, and is ideal for playing in school or with friends and even grown-ups. Wrapped in a beautifully atmospheric and organic art style, the game does as much to please the eyes as it does to test your brain.
Equator is released on iPad on the 23rd of August.
