SANTA CLARA – May 17, 2012 – Aeria Games, a leading destination for free-to-play online multiplayer games, today announced the beta launch of Ignite, its new digital distribution platform. In limited release, Ignite has already achieved 200,000 daily active users. Within a single convenient application, the platform is designed to give gamers quick access to free-to-play games, social features such as profile management, messaging with friends, and soon to be released social networking features for players. For developers, Ignite is a unique distribution and communication application utilizing Aeria’s renowned global publishing platform to give them access to millions of active gamers in more than 30 countries. Using Ignite, players gain access to a multitude of PC, browser, or mobile titles while staying connected with friends. Going forward, the Ignite application will be distributed with every Aeria Games title and is also available as a separate download. Currently available for online PC gamers, Ignite will soon be available for tablet and mobile gamers, giving players and developers a seamless experience across multiple devices.
With extensive feedback from the user community, Ignite extends the Aeria Games publishing platform for distribution of games and related media online across the F2P community. Using Ignite, developers can instantly distribute their games to a large free-to-play audience and gain access to various features such as analytics and monetization provided by the Aeria platform. Ignite leverages the same community features as the AeriaGames.com portal to drive user engagement, and the company plans to develop additional Ignite-only functionality to enhance the user experience. With support for nine languages, Ignite reaches users across all Western territories in which Aeria publishes its games.
“Ignite was created by Aeria Games to provide a comprehensive, easy-to-use distribution mechanism for free-to-play developers while giving our players one-click access to their favorite games, community features, and support,” said Terry Ngo, Chief Technology Officer of Aeria Games. “As the first application of its kind, we expect that Ignite will provide a valuable platform for developers wanting to reach core gamers.”
Ignite is the latest initiative in a period of rapid growth and expansion for the company. Founded in 2006, Aeria Games is a global leader in producing high quality online free-to-play games in North America, Latin America, and Europe. The company’s success comes from its expertise in delivering highly profitable freemium experiences to core gamers. Aeria Games hosts a diverse and rapidly growing portfolio of over 30 critically-acclaimed MMO titles in nine languages, including action, roleplaying, shooters, real-time strategy, and racing games.
