Ambient Studios Launches Kickstarter Campaign For Death Inc.

Statistically, Monday 4 th February 2013 is the day “ most likely to contain a swell Kickstarter campaign launch from Ambient Studios.”

Not wanting to let the stats down or infuriate mathematicians, we obliged and decided to launch our Kickstarter campaign for Death Inc. at 12:00 GMT ( 04:00 PST, 07:00 EST ).

The Kickstarter campaign aims to raise £300,000 to fund the game to completion, expected Autumn 2013 for PC/Mac. Kickstarter is the perfect platform for Death Inc. as it enables us to have a unique, early dialogue about the game with its most important supporters. With no middleman in the form of a publisher, we can talk openly and really let the fans see how the game's development is going.

Death Inc. is a unique blend of real-time strategy, god game and business simulation, harking back to some of the classic Bullfrog games like Syndicate and Dungeon Keeper. The player controls Grim T. Livingstone, freelance reaper, and sees him rampage his pestilential horde through the 17 th century infecting everyone he can with the plague.

Ambient was formed by a group of friends from Media Molecule, Lionhead and Criterion. The company now comprises 11 experienced developers with pedigrees including LittleBigPlanet, the Fable franchise, Burnout and Need For Speed.

Death Inc. promises to be the world’s best simulation of travelling around 17 th century England infecting people with the bubonic plague. It also claims that you’ll totally love it and that telling all your friends about it would be “really ace”.

Even better than that would be backing our Kickstarter campaign! It’ll be at once the campaign is launched.
