Artix Entertainment Announces Friday the 13th In-Game Event with Musical Guest Voltaire in the MMORPG AdventureQuest Worlds

LAND O'LAKES, FLORIDA - May 12, 2011– Artix Entertainment, the indie game development studio that delivers download-free browser-based RPGs to 130 million users, will host an in-game Friday the 13 th event with musician Voltaire this Friday, May 13 th, 2011 at 7 PM EDT in the hit MMORPG AdventureQuest Worlds.

Friday the 13 th is generally considered an unlucky day. But THIS Friday the 13 th may be different. A pirate ship full of gold and untold treasures has been discovered in the middle of the desert! Trouble is, every bandit in town is after the booty, especially since the Vorutanian Key Blade, one of the most powerful weapons in Lore, is rumored to be aboard. News of the blade travels fast. Even the evil Lord Krom Wrath, overlord of a distant planet, receives information and begins amassing an invasion to go after the key blade.

Players will team up with musician Voltaire and his undead teddy bear, Deady, to fight off the evil Lord Krom Wrath and the other bandits who are after the powerful treasure of the pirate ship. But watch out, getting to the pirate ship won’t be easy. The quickest way to get to it is by riding the legendary Ghost train that transports souls across the desert every Friday the 13 th. The train will allow anyone onboard, but no one is ever allowed to disembark. And even if you manage to escape, what are you going to do about all of Lord Krom Wrath’s minions who are already swarming around the ship?

The event will have voiceovers done by Voltaire, members of the AE team, and voice actor Michael Sinterniklaas– best known as the voice of Dean Venture from Adult Swim™’s The Venture Bros.™ as well as the voice of Leonardo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles™ TV series– and songs from Voltaire’s all-new album, Hate Lives in a Small Town.

Everyone is invited to attend this very special event and help save Lore from Lord Krom Wrath’s invasion.  Join us in-game at this Friday, May 13 th, 2011 at 7 PM (EDT).
