Artix Entertainment Announces New Planet in RPG MechQuest

LAND O'LAKES, FLORIDA– June 2, 2011– Artix Entertainment, a small, independent game development studio that creates hit F2P (Free-to-Play) games played by over 130 million people, announced today it will be releasing a new planet in its hit browser RPG MechQuest this Friday, June 3 rd, 2011 at 6 PM EDT.

MechQuest is Artix Entertainment’s most popular science fiction RPG.  In the game, players control giant robots called Mechas to battle the evil Shadowscythe who are invading the universe.  The Shadowscythe have been plaguing the universe for hundreds of years, waging war and taking over any planet they encounter.

In an attempt to locate necessary components for a weapon capable of eliminating the Shadowscythe, the players have drawn attention to their home planet, Loreon, from a neighboring planet that is run as a giant game show. The leader of the Gameshow planet, a robot named GLaDERP, has threatened to destroy Loreon unless its representatives (the players) compete in the games.  The games can be anything and everything– trivia, obstacle course, battles, traps, etc. Only one thing’s for sure: it’ll be very dangerous.

The fate of an entire planet depends on players being able to compete in and win the Gameshow planet’s games. All players, existing and new, are invited to log in this Friday and compete in GLaDERP’s game show in order to save Loreon!

WHAT:  GLaDERP from the Gameshow planet is threatening to destroy MechQuest’s home planet.

WHEN: Friday, June 3rd, 2011 at 6 PM (EDT)

WHO: A deliriously entertaining game show host, the AE team and YOU!

WHY: To compete in the Gameshow planet’s games to save Loreon.

WHERE: In-game at www.MechQuest.com

This release parodies the Tron: Legacy movie and the Portal 2 game. But don’t worry, AE did not parody Space Ghost Coast to Coast , though George Lowe voiced the whole thing!
