Artix Entertainment's Longest Running Storyline in Online RPG DragonFable Will End This Friday

LAND O'LAKES, FLORIDA - August 24, 2011 – Artix Entertainment, the independent game development studio that delivers download-free browser-based RPGs to 130 million users, invites all its players this Friday, August 26th, at 7 PM EDT to log in to DragonFable and play the last installment in the longest running storyline of all of AE's games.  Once this epic battle is over and the Chapter One storyline concludes, DragonFable will continue in Chapter Two with weekly releases full of exciting adventures and challenges, just as before.

DragonFable is Artix Entertainment’s second oldest game. It was launched in the summer of 2005 and, just like AE’s five other games, it releases new content every Friday. One of the very first storylines introduced in the game was the Elemental Orb Saga. This saga is about a very powerful villain named Sepulchure trying to find and collect all eight of the game’s elemental orbs.  Elemental orbs are very powerful objects that give whoever possesses the orbs great power over those elements (fire, water, earth, etc).

It took six years and a lot of player resistance, but Sepulchure finally managed to steal the remaining elemental orbs that weren't already in his possession. He used them to form the Ultimate Orb, an orb more powerful than all eight elemental orbs that comprise it. After a series of unfortunate events, the Ultimate Orb fell into another powerful villain's hands who used the orb to merge himself with a slain dragon's skeleton to become a huge dracolich (undead dragon).Players were unable to defeat the dracolich before it began absorbing all the darkness of the world to grow to an unimaginable size. Last week, it grew so big that it ate the sun and plunged all of Lore into darkness.

The only hope of defeating the mysterious stranger is to form another ultimate orb. But with all the elemental orbs gone, the players had to improvise. They went back in time, over and over again, until they collected eight Bacon orbs (orbs that have power over bacon, of course).

This week players will be the riveting finale of the Elemental Orb saga. Will the Bacon Ultimate Orb be enough to destroy the dracolich and bring light back into the world?

WHAT: The grand finale of the longest running storyline in all of AE’s games.
