IRVINE, CALIFORNIA -- MARCH 1, 2012 -- ATLUS ONLINE, a division of ATLUS dedicated to massively online gaming and entertainment, today revealed that it is taking over operation and management of Shin Megami Tensei®: Imagine™, the popular free-to-play MMORPG set in the company's critically-acclaimed SMT universe.  The migration, which will result in a short period of maintenance downtime but will carry over all characters and player data--allowing for seamless continuation of play once operation resumes--is set to occur in April.

" Shin Megami Tensei is synonymous with the ATLUS brand," said Tsuyoshi Onozuka, Director of Online Games at ATLUS ONLINE.  "While the popular MMORPG has been available for some time in North America via a different portal, we are proud to announce its transfer to ATLUS ONLINE management, a move that feels very much to us like a homecoming.  We're taking every care to ensure that apart from a very short period of maintenance downtime, that every aspect of existing players' accounts is preserved.  Moreover, our series of loyalty events, a celebration of ongoing player commitment, promises to reward SMT: Imagine users for their patience and support.  We're very excited for SMT: Imagine to join the ATLUS ONLINE library of massively online entertainment this April."

To reward existing players for their loyalty, both for past dedication and also for players who continue to play SMT: Imagine through and beyond the transition, ATLUS ONLINE also today announced a series of special loyalty events:

  • Migration Event (3/1 - Launch):  Existing SMT users who keep playing during and after the ATLUS ONLINE launch will automatically be entered for a chance to win special in-game prizes.
  • New Users Event (3/1 - Launch): New users who register during the launch period with ATLUS ONLINE will be entered to win special in-game and physical prizes.  Keep checking the site for more details!
