IRVINE, CALIFORNIA - JUNE 4, 2012 - ATLUS, a brand of Index Digital Media, Inc., today announced that it has obtained the North American publishing rights for The Testament of Sherlock Holmes™, an all-new Sherlock Holmes adventure developed by Frogwares and the first such game built from the ground up to take full advantage of the graphics and processing power of the HD generation, coming this September for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.
The Testament of Sherlock Holmes leverages the advanced visual technology of an all-new game engine, one developed to provide players unprecedented depth and nuance in their examination and analysis of crime scenes, critical clues, and persons of interest. Moreover, particular emphasis was given to creating a versatile control system, retaining the intricacy and involvement of a Sherlock Holmes adventure while making the game enjoyably accessible for console gamers. Through use of elaborately conceived set pieces, every inch of the mystery can be explored. The game's characters have been comprehensively motion captured, further enhancing the narrative immersion. All of this comes in addition to a new light and shadow system, various post-process image effects, high quality voiceovers, and expert cinematography, making The Testament of Sherlock Holmes the best looking, most intricately detailed interactive Sherlock Holmes adventure ever!
"We are excited to continue our successful licensing relationship with Focus Home Interactive," said Tim Pivnicny, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at ATLUS. "Sherlock Holmes is an internationally recognizable brand and one of the most iconic characters in literature, not to mention one of the most enduring, as evidenced by the successful films and television series. We are pleased to be a part of bringing his most provocative, technologically advanced interactive adventure to North America for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners to experience."
Scrutinized by Scotland Yard, doubted by his stalwart companion Dr. John Watson, and behaving more erratically than ever, Sherlock Holmes is in what might be his darkest hour yet. His recent triumph in the case of a missing set of priceless jewels has turned to disaster; the necklace's owner accuses Holmes of returning a forgery to him, and there seems to be no evidence at the ready to clear his name. Has Sherlock Holmes become a criminal? If he is indeed a thief, what else is he capable of? As the questions and suspicions mount, will salvation be found or will there be nothing to stop the famous detective's seeming descent into darkness...
The Testament of Sherlock Holmes is scheduled to release in North America this September for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 systems. For more information, visit http://sherlockholmes-thegame.com.
