Redbana US held a contest this past month asking fans to get on their feet and choreograph dances to their favorite Audition songs. Dozens of fans pop, locked, and dropped it as videos featuring dramatic special effects and epic moves filtered into the official Audition forums. The 90 second video submissions were judged on choreography, costume, and overall originality.
The winning video submission, sent in by forum member Insomnia took the 1st place prize with a split screen video of Insomnia dancing in sync with his avatar’s perfect break dancing moves, and can be seen on the main page of the Audition website. Runners up include forum members CaptainRobo, and AZNRocker13, whose videos can also be viewed on the Audition website: http://audition.redbana.com
“Music is such an important part of Audition, and we wanted to see how the game inspires both virtual and physical creativity,” says Eric Liu, Global Manager of Redbana.“The video submissions surpassed our expectations, and it was amazing to see how dedicated our fans truly are!”
As seen from the videos, creativity wasn’t limited to just dance moves. From editing to scenery, participants did what they could to show support for the game and have a chance at the prize. The first place winner received an iPod engraved with their in-game name and $50 in BANA Cash, the virtual currency used to purchase clothes and accessories in the Audition Shopping Mall. The contest was a hit among players; even those who shied away from a personal video submission supported their fellow Audition friends through encouraging comments in the game’s forums. This friendly and supportive atmosphere is a distinguishing characteristic of the game’s community, attracting people of all walks of life to log on and bust a virtual move.
