Aurora, New Indie RTS, Now Available

Aurora is simplicity. RTS games are too big, too complicated, and too fast. This game is the antidote. In Aurora there is only one type of building, one type of unit, and one type of order that you can give. The game takes RTS game mechanics and distills them down to pure strategy.

Aurora is symmetry. In every level the player is pitted against two aggressive AI opponents. Starting with equal resources on a perfectly symmetrical battlefield, the only path to victory is through clever maneuvers and intelligent tactics.

Aurora is rhythm. Set in a world of abstract and sublime celestial visuals, every object pulses with the beat of the game's ambient music. In the game's magnificent battles, the player's actions form quiet musical notes that procedurally coalesce into melody.

Aurora is strategy. With no frills, the game offers only the most stark choices. Every action has its reaction, and every option has its costs. Aurora is a game in which your decisions matter.

Availability and system requirements: Aurora requires Windows (XP/Vista/7) and a video card that supports Shader Model 1.1 or higher.

Aurora was created by E McNeill, an independent game designer. It was started in 2008 and has been slowly marinating in awesomeness for over a year and a half.
