Melbourne, Australia - 9th April 2012
Camshaft Software is excited to announce the release of the first demo of Automation - The Car Company Tycoon Game. While the full game still is under development, this demo features a small part of the Engine Designer, which will be only a part of the finished game. Preorders are given early access to the demo and will receive updated demo content as the game’s development progresses. A public demo will be released on April 22nd.
The demo sports five tutorial missions and nine scenarios in which the player designs vastly different 4-cylinder engines. Players will be challenged to build anything from a howling beast of a race car motor to an eastern european taxi engine to run on the worst fuel known to man. Despite its borderline-insane degree of realism and emergent complexity, the game remains easy to learn by means of in-game tutorial videos - even if you’re no car expert, you probably will be afterwards!

What will the finished game be about?
Automation will allow the player to become an armchair CEO - to build their own car company from ground up. The player can create and run anything from a boutique supercar manufacturer to a mass-market multinational mogul. The game offers in-depth design tools (such as the Engine Designer featured in the demo) that make possible the creation of cars and their engines in mind-boggling detail.
