Award winning broadcasters “take a bow” and celebrate their first hit app

LONDON, UK – December 10, 2012 – Gray Cooper Media, the company created by Andy Gray and Richard Keys to publish sports games, are pleased to announce that Fluid Football, the smash hit tactical football game for mobile devices, has exceeded 1 million downloads.

Developed in partnership with Chromativity and co-published by AppyNation, Fluid Football is available on iTunes for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, and on Google Play for Android devices. Fluid Football is also available on three new platforms: Amazon's Kindle Fire/HD, Barnes & Noble's NOOK, and BlackBerry PlayBook and forthcoming BlackBerry 10 devices.

Award winning broadcaster and ex-footballer Andy Gray said, “Keysie and I have wanted to put our name to a tactical football game for ages. To know that over one million people around the world have played our game has blown us away. We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received for this. Like everything, to deliver great results, you need a great team. I cannot thank the teams at Chromativity and AppyNation enough for helping us to deliver our vision. They are a great and able set of lads and we are looking forward to continuing our journey with them.”

Richard Keys, fellow award winning broadcaster and partner of Andy Gray at Gray Cooper Media added, “We are chuffed to have a hit app. The exciting world of mobile just continues to amaze and intrigue us. We have been knocked out to see the positive feedback from players from Rio de Janiero, through to Istanbul, Munich, Paris, New York and back here to London. We have always wanted to reach out to football fans from all over the world. Fluid Football is a dream come true.”

Fluid Football has met with incredible success in a short period of time. While the technical excellence is down to a very talented development team, the original vision for the Fluid Football franchise stemmed from a chance meeting between Andy Gray and one of his closest friends.

“My great friend Carl Brewins said I must meet with Jason Cooper who was in the process of developing and publishing a football game with Chromativity. When I met with Jason and Chromativity, led by Simon Prytherch, I realised they would be the ideal guys to work with, as they were creating something new for the football genre.

“Of course my work on television, analysing football tactics, added considerable insight to the game that Jason and Chromativity had in mind. We agreed that we would only get involved if we could push the boundaries in every respect. We quickly realised that nobody else had taken this approach for a football game. The combination of drag-and-draw tactical gameplay and levels based around set pieces made this absolutely unique.

“So I got Keysie involved and we created Gray Cooper Media Ltd, and Chromativity are our partners in every respect. We then got AppyNation on board, headed by Andy Payne. He and his team marketed the game in an amazing way and in the first three days of launch, Fluid Football became the number one sports game on iTunes in over twenty countries, a great testament to the team.

“We then knew we had a tiger by the tail and we have since continually re-invested in the game to ensure that it can be played on as many different platforms and as many different devices as possible. I have played the game thousands of times and I admit I still smile to myself when I complete a complex move, hit the back of the net and hear a familiar voice say “Take a bow son, take a bow.””

New versions of the game are planned soon, with some further surprises in store.  Gray Cooper Media, Chromativity and AppyNation are investing more of their time and effort into the brand and hope to bring Fluid Football to millions more football fans all over the world, while adding more features and benefits to the users that have helped to make it such an amazing success so far.

“We are pushing the technical boundaries further. Chromativity are in the final testing of certain server-based technologies that will change the way that sports games are played. These are very exciting times for us,” added Gray.
