21 May, London: GameShadow, Fasthosts & epic.LAN today announced the opening matches for GameShadow Battles, a new online gaming tournament, with a chance for gamers to win a combined prize fund of £10,000. With registrations complete, uptake has been incredibly strong and gamers are now ready to do battle.
GameShadow Battles has invited gamers to take part in a series of challenges within two featured games: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Challenge and Counter Strike: Source Challenge.
Demand for entries exceeded all expectations, with over 1400 gamers from all over the world having signed up to take part in the online tournament using Fasthosts’ server platform. The competition has secured top-flight teams from all over the world, such as Beasts Multigaming from Sweden, Team VeryGames from France and Copenhagen Wolves from Denmark.
The UK is also well represented including teams such as mousesports who recently won the Copenhagen Games. Another high seeding squad is Rasta-Gaming who have previously won twice at epic.LAN. The competition promises big name clashes combined with debuts from fresh talent on the block – the new title up for grabs will be highly attractive to many.
The prize fund, which is being provided by Fasthosts, is divided equally between the two challenges, with each £5,000 prize to be shared between the top three finishing teams. The winning teams will collect £2,750, the runners up £1,500, and bronze medalists £750.
Additional prizes will also be awarded each week to teams or individual players that make us laugh, cry or applaud. The tournament brings together the best of the best with GameShadow’s significant following, Fasthosts’ world class hosting services and epic.LAN’s eSports expertise and specialised tournament management software.
