BenQ becomes a partner of the Electronic Sports League at gamescom 2011

Electronic Sports League announces BenQ as the official partner of the ESL Arena (hall 9) at gamescom 2011 (August 17 - 21). More than a hundred of BenQ’s XL2410T gaming displays will be placed in the ESL Arena in hall 9, giving professional gamers as well as visitors of the Arena the opportunity to test the latest monitors of BenQ’s XL gaming series. The monitors will be used in the professional eSports competitions taking place on the main stage, in casual gaming matches available in the numerous free gaming areas around the Arena.

Visitors can test XL2410T – a particular model of BenQ’s Gaming series – a 23.6 inch monitor with 120 Hz LED panel, 2 ms (GTG) response time and dynamic contrast of 10 million:1. These high-performance screens with low response time are extremely attractive especially for competitive players. In gaming speed plays a crucial role and every fraction of a second can be decisive for the final result of the match. Taking that into consideration BenQ invited professional players to take part in the process of development of their product. Emil 'HeatoN' Christensen und Abdisamad 'SpawN' Mohamed were both members of one of the most famous eSports team in the world – SK Gaming. In the years 2002 – 2004 they were part of the Counter-Strike 1.6 division of the team and are considered to be among the best pro-gamers of all times. As potential users they provided BenQ with a valuable input and the gamers‘ point of view.

"Within my career as a pro-gamer, the collaboration with BenQ definitely counts as one of the greatest experiences ever," Emil 'HeatoN' Christensen said. "BenQ is highly dedicated to gaming and is famous for its perfection and attention to details. I am looking forward to gamescom and to playing together with my German fans." he adds.
