TORONTO - May 19, 2011
Fuse Powered Inc. (Fuse) today announced the completion of a $2 million seed funding round, with contributions from BlackBerry Partners Fund and NFQ Ventures. The investment will accelerate Fuse– a digital mobile game publisher– from early-stage to fully-established, as it finalizes plans for significant developer and brand partnerships, new business initiatives and mobile game launches in the coming months. Specifically, Fuse will use the investment to expand staffing, technology infrastructure, partnership support, and business development.
Fuse is a mobile game publishing company formed in 2009, with a focus on maximizing customer value and game discovery through the use of propriety tools and real-time analytics software. Fuse offers comprehensive analytics tools to support its mobile development partners, such as a real-time game performance dashboard and data-driven business plans. The Company also leverages its high-profile games to build large audiences and visibility for development partners in the App Store, and adds value by advising partners on how to best monetize their games, community and marketing initiatives.
“The Blackberry Partners Fund investment represents an affirmation of Fuse’s global thought leadership as mobile game publishers and the unique nature of our proprietary tools and position in the market,” said Jon Walsh, CEO of Fuse Powered Inc.“The investment will accelerate our progress and give us an edge in the marketplace.”
Fuse is highly active with business development efforts around the world. The publisher was recently selected as one of three winners for the Canadian Innovation Exchange’s CIX Accelerator Program, from over 50 total entrants. As a selected winner Fuse will benefit from incubator workspace in San Francisco, the heart of the North American mobile game industry, to allow it to more easily negotiate and cement global publishing, licensing and major brand deals and forge new relationships amongst technology and business leaders.
"Fuse brings a unique analytics driven approach to the mobile gaming publishing space that optimizes both game discovery and monetization," said Marc Faucher, Partner at BlackBerry Partners Fund. "We’re thrilled to be adding the company to our investment portfolio and working with a team with such deep industry experience, strategic relationships and knowledge of the gaming space.”
