SAN FRANCISCO - May 19, 2011
Bolt Creative today announced the release of the newest free update to their best-selling iOS game, Pocket God: Episode 39, entitled“Challenge of the Gods,” asks the important question: Sure, Pocket God has seen more updates and free added content than any game on the App Store and still costs only $0.99, but what has it done for us lately?“Challenge of the Gods” then answers its own question by adding new objectives and challenges to all 38 episodes that have preceded it, and paves the way for even more power-mad, pygmy-abusing fun to come.
“Challenge of the Gods” adds a new island to the map: God Island, home to a mysterious temple and a series of open pedestals. These pedestals can be filled by an all-new collection of God Idols, which must be earned in a set of challenges waiting inside the game– challenges which will require players to revisit and re-master the ever-growing arsenal of pygmy-punishing powers and mini-games which have joined Pocket God over the course of its 39 episodes. A player who wishes to collect all 39 Idols will have to be a true master over their hapless pygmies, exploring and finding every last fiendish feature in the game. What’s more, collecting the Idols and bringing them to the temple will unlock its secrets, and give players a glimpse of what new miseries await their pygmies in Episode 40.
Other new features in“Challenge of the Gods” include the Shark Pack, a purchasable set of skins for the ever-hungry shark, such as the robot shark, tiger
shark, alien shark, and others.
