Oulton Park, UK, 12th March 2012. Brain in a Jar, the independent UK developer specialising in racing simulation games and technology, has announced that the V1 Championship simulation, which was developed in-house at Brain in a Jar, will be available to play at this week’s Indie Showcase and Software City event, taking place as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Conference in Liverpool, UK, on Wednesday 14 th March. Indie Showcase will be a networking event where independent digital and creative companies from the region can meet, exchange ideas and demonstrate their work.
The V1 Championship is a simulation where prospective race drivers can show their natural talent by racing laps of the Rockingham circuit in an accurately-modelled virtual Citroen Clio Cup racer (or open-wheel Formula BMW race car). As an entirely new kind of ‘feeder’ race series, the V1 Championship relies on Brain in a Jar’s simulation rigour to provide an objective test-bed for drivers from any background, with the very best performers going on to receive actual, in-car, on-track tuition from experienced race drivers. The winner of the championship will take part in a full season of motor racing.
Carl Dalton, founder, Brain in a Jar comments “It’s great to be taking our V1 Championship simulator to this year’s Indie Showcase and letting the delegates of the Global Entrepreneurship Conference see the standard of work we can deliver.” He continues, “Events such as this provide an essential platform for the local and independent game development community, showcasing the talent and variety that makes independent development so special, vital and exciting.”
Indie Showcase takes place at the Pan American Bar, Albert Dock on the 14th March 2012 from 5:30 to 7:30pm.
