Candle goes to Wii U and meets its funding goal

Candle , which Kickstarter campaign and Greenlight campaign are still on the run, has confirmed officially a Wii U version AND reached its minimum funding goal.

Candle, the adventure game with hand-made graphics has recently reached its minimum funding goal for its crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, as well as the first stretch goal, so the Linux & Mac versions are also confirmed. Teku Studios has also announced a Wii U version for the game.

The team at Teku Studios talks a bit about the Wii U version: “We really want to take Candle to Next-Gen consoles, so we immediately talked to Nintendo and showed them our precious game. They loved what we are doing at Teku Studios and have already confirmed us to be official Wii U developers!”

Teku Studios has already requested the DevKits and should arrive anytime soon, so now it's confirmed that Wii U is officially a release platform for Candle.

However, this isn't going to be a quick port, as Miguel Vallés, Owner and Lead Programmer clarifies: “We love Nintendo platforms since we have grow with them, so it was natural for us to go for it. We are already thinking about dedicated gameplay on Wii U - we are not doing any kind of quick port. We will designe specific gameplay features for its gamepad: all the menus, inventory and minigames will be tactile-controled on the touchscreen, as well as other unique actions concerning Teku's candle.”

The Wii U version may delay its launch, though. “This is a dedicated development, and so we need extra time and effort to do it correctly with the all-new features. If we could fund it, we would hire some extra professionals and make this a day-1 version, but if we don't reach that we can't promise this one to be a launch day version, unfortunately. It may take us some additional weeks.”

With this announcement, Candle is now expanded into new, exciting Next-Gen platforms.
