Catch-22 is a relaxing & frustrating one-button game where you play against yourself.
You control one of two spheres that orbit around a planet, and switch between them during the game. The goal is to pick up the white orbs and to avoid the other you, who is your ghost. If you collect all orbs you will switch to the ghost and control it, and your previous self becomes the ghost. The old you will repeat the actions you did in the previous turn and you will now have to avoid your own jumps and evasions.
This process is infinite until you inevitably bump into yourself and reach a high-score.
Catch-22 was made in 48hrs Global Game Jam and created with Unity3D. The concept of the game relates to the idiom of catch-22 where the solution for the problem becomes a problem in itself. And as in a catch-22 situation the problem and the solution are infinitely connected.
The game has won two awards and a finalist nomination already, and this has given us the motivation and inspiration to keep on developing this game which is set to release in Q2 2012 on iOS and Steam (PC/Mac).
The company we have set up is called; Mango Down! and is based in The Netherlands, and is working day and night to become an independant game studio to keep on creating juicy & fruity stuff for you. We hope you will support our cause and like our game.
