SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, August 6, 2012 – ChaosNgn Productions and Director of Photography, Joe Mullen, are launching pre-production on Pwned!, a film following seven gamer friends on a cross-country road trip adventure.  This movie will be the geek anthem of the MMO era.

What happens when seven gamer friends actually leave the house and set out on a quest across the country to find their missing friend and repair a guild mishap of epic proportions? Utter chaos!

Pwned! is a film with every geek culture reference you could possibly imagine. Mishaps and situations that defy the imagination. Think Superbad and American Pie being directed by Guy Ritchie for a South Park episode,” says producer Hannah Ervin.

The film will be shot on Arri Alexa Digital and will be a financed via a month-long Kickstarter campaign. Talks are in progress with actors prominent in geek culture for feature and cameo roles, as well as major recording labels.

Nicole Wyland has been cast for the role of Charly, a strong yet feminine gamer girl. An accomplished actress and musician, Ms. Wyland is best known for her “Flower Warfare” films directed by YouTube phenom Freddie Wong.  Actress Nina Harada has been cast as Valerie, a geeky gamer girl with some surprises in store, and Nick Wilson has been brought on board as Ryan, a gamer with a cool exterior that belies his inner geek.

Of Pwned!, assistant director Brian McKelvey said, “I think what people will find most appealing about this film is that the gaming, computer, and technical references actually make sense for a change.”
