CHILLINGO SHOOTS INTO HYPERSPACE WITH RADIO FLARE REDUX

UNITED STATES, UNITED KINGDOM and AUSTRIA– March 4, 2010– Leading iPhone game publisher, Chillingo, today announced the launch of Radio Flare REDUX for iPhone and iPod touch. Developed by Austria-based indie developer studio radiolaris, the game is a stylized side-scrolling shoot-’em-up featuring groundbreaking music and multi-touch gameplay.

Radio Flare REDUX combines shoot-‘em-up gameplay with a revolutionary soundtrack which affects the game itself. Enemies move in time to the music, while your ship’s attacking capability is also based on the rhythmic beat. The space ships in Radio Flare REDUX are easily controlled by either Drag or Joystick options, which lets players careen their way through space dodging bullets while taking out opponents.

Every aspect of Radio Flare REDUX is hardwired to the pulse pounding soundtrack of licensed techno, club and house music from an A-list roster of internationally renowned DJs and dance artists. The playlist including Kevin Gorman, Revolution Void, Motor, Binaerpilot and DJ Glow (from the original Radio Flare game), and techno labels International Deejay, Gigolo Records, Mikrowave.co.uk, Buddemusic, Underline and more.

"It was a great experience to collaborate with many different international musicians and DJs on the soundtrack for Radio Flare REDUX,” said Fares Kayali, producer at studio radiolaris. Martin Pichlmair, design overlord at studio radiolaris, continued,“We set out to make a music game that allows you to fly through music, to experience a song like you never did before.”

“Radio Flare REDUX is unmatched on the App Store,” explains Chillingo Head of Publishing, Johnny Coghlan.“It brings a unique, intense new style to music gaming and provides the complete entertainment experience with licensed songs, astonishing graphics, addictive gameplay and leading social networking with Crystal support.”

Radio Flare REDUX is available now for iPhone and iPod touch from the iTunes App Store, priced $2.99 USD. Game trailers and further information can be seen at radiolaris.com/redux. More information about the Crystal social gaming platform can be found at CrystalSDK.com.
