Contract Work mashes action-RPG with old-school shmup in a cyberpunk world to create a game that lets you play how you want to play. In a future where corporatism has evolved to its worst degree, money is the only thing that matters. You’ll shoot and hack your way through the competition, taking contracts that task you with stealing corporate information or bringing down a rival HQ.
Following the recently successful Kickstarter campaign, and ahead of the game’s release on PC this Summer, the brand new public demo of Contract Work is now available to play, with the latest update adding new weapons, special abilities, perks and contracts. Contract Work features multiple endings depending on how you choose to play the game, but those choices pay off in the short-term too. You start every mission by accepting a contract and customising it to your needs. You can even make things harder for yourself - the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward.
Your character is your creation from the ground up, and there’s a huge number of weapons and special abilities to choose from. Your class determines which of these you have access to, and you can bust down doors as an explosive expert, or take the sneaky route and hack your way to success. There are no skill trees - you earn the cash, and then buy what you want to play how you want to play.
The Past Controls The Future
Contract Work looks to the past to build its future. Using classics like Deus Ex, Contra and System Shock for inspiration, it blends elements of immersive sims, side-scrolling ARPGs and shoot-em-ups to create a game that feels entirely its own. It also recalls a time when games were hard - properly hard - and as you start to take on the more lucrative contracts, your swear jar will start to really fill up.

Contract Work is exclusively built in HTML5, meaning no downloads or installations are needed, and you can pick up and play at your convenience. Whether you want to play for hours on end, or just have a quick five minute session, Contract Work is flexible to your choices and is playable in any browser.
About Iterative Games
Contract Work is the first commercial indie project of Kee-Won Hong, aka Iterative Games. Kee-Won started working on games in his spare time at school almost fifteen years ago, blooding himself on the Half-Life and Unreal Tournament modding scenes. He recently worked for Chicago-based Toy Studio Games, of Mahjong Solitaire fame, before moving into full-time development on Contract Work.
