MEDWAY, Massachusetts – March 12, 2013 – Dancing Sorcerer Games has revealed their debut title Road of Kings, a fantasy role playing game for mobile devices. Road of Kings combines elements of open world exploration, choose-your-own-adventure style storytelling, and a dynamic world whose landscape changes based on player actions. Scheduled for release in the coming months on Android devices via Google Play, it will be presented for the first time to the public at the upcoming PAX East conference.
“We were strongly inspired by traditional tabletop role playing games of the early 80's,” said Paul Siegel, co-founder of Dancing Sorcerer Games. “We wanted to bring that feeling of a huge and mysterious world ripe for exploration where you can try anything and watch your character live or die by those choices.”
In Road of Kings, the player takes control of a lone barbarian out to make a name for himself by gathering enough treasure to declare himself king. The action takes place on a huge map littered with dangerous foes, potential allies, and hidden treasures. The player must choose carefully when to raid the characters he meets for plunder, and when to forge alliances and recruit new members to his band of treasure seekers. The dangers are many and the road is difficult – a gruesome or humorous death can be as much fun as discovering hidden paths to victory!
