Dangerous Girls to Show it All in Seattle!

23 Sept. 2008— Mousechief, Co. is proud to announce, 'Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble' has been selected as a finalist for the 2008 IndieCade Festival of Independent Games and will be showcased at its Open Satellite event next month!

Already, Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble has been awarded by the Casual Games Association a $3,000 prize for 'Most Innovative Game'.

Jay is Games says:

"...highly, highly recommend this game. DHSGiT provides that most unusual and valuable feature, uniqueness; you won't have played anything like it. It is extraordinarily entertaining, and long enough to contain a really meaty storyline. In many ways DHSGiT exemplifies much of what I love about casual gameplay and independent designers: unrestrained creativity, out-of-the-box conceptual thinking and the quirkiness that comes from freedom of expression."

DHSGiT is a generational leap for casual games. Previously, story was tucked between a single game mechanic the player repeated until she ran out of levels, and then the story ended. Mousechief has created a world of story the player explores. Talk with the characters and/or play games against them. Previously, players had to win to continue the story. This is also true for most RPGs--players win or die. DHSGiT advances its story based on the outcome of an encounter, win, lose, tie, parley, etc. Even the choice of game can affect how the story advances.

Allowing casual gamers to experience rich, interactive narratives required combining the level structure of casual games with the open world structure core gamers prefer. But it had to be presented in a context familiar to casual gamers. DHSGiT uses a boardgame metaphor similar to Clue and the original Arkham Horror. DHSGiT does support quick-game experiences for convenience. Play one encounter at a time or as many desired.

As for the story, well, the title is a crazy one, the gameplay is crazy fun, but to sustain a 20 hour epic, Mousechief chose to innovate casual games in another dimension, respect for the maturity of the audience that buys casual games. DHSGiT is not a story for children and has been rated TEEN using the T.I.G.R.S. rating system.

Casual gamers have had their second childhoods pampered long enough. They are tiring of primary colors, goggle-eyed cartoon characters, and 'mystery' fare kids could figure out. DHSGiT roils with literary satire. Its sophisticated narrative pokes fun at a landscape of sexuality, society, superstition, and politics to warn of the perils perpetuated by small minds.

This is the game where indie challenges the mainstream. This is the game where good girls get better by being BAD!
