Hamburg, 15th December 2009– The German Developers' Prize 2009 awards ceremony generated great excitement at gamigo games. On December 9th, the Academy of the German Developers' Award honoured innovation amongst German game developers in the Lichtburg in Essen, Germany. One of the evening's winners was the 3D browser-based game Pirate Galaxy, which is distributed exclusively by gamigo AG. The team of developers from Splitscreen Studios scored the coveted German Developers' Award development grant.“Germany is one of the trail-blazers of the online market,” says Hendrik Lesser, CEO of Remote Control Productions and member of the Academy.“That's why I am particularly excited that now, for the first time, a purely online developer, Splitscreen Studios, is receiving the development grant.”
In Pirate Galaxy, players explore far-away planets, hunt for precious crystals and artefacts and join others in the battle against hostile aliens. The browser-based game impresses players with its gigantic in-game universe and stunning 3D graphics. Would-be space pirates can conquer the universe for free at http://pirate-galaxy.gamigo.com.
