Over the past 12 years, Distinctive Developments has established itself as one of the most notable games developers in the mobile industry. Having seen the mobile games industry go through an amazing transformation, Distinctive is now living through exciting times of growth and diversification. Known for its award-winning work for a number of high-profile clients from EA to Square Enix, Distinctive is also now investing heavily into building its own publishing business.

This recruitment drive is a part of Distinctive’s strategy of both growing the product portfolio as well as transforming the internal processes to adopt a more service-minded approach to games publishing. To support the new service concept, the company has set up a new team, ‘Launch & Live’, which will take over the life-cycle management for Distinctive’s two games labels:  sports-focused Distinctive Games and the socially casual Bad Puppet. The newly formed team will welcome Buxton-native Media Production graduate Rebecca Sweetmore as the Junior Project Manager. The team will also be joined by Ashley Muncaster, a keen programmer come musician from South Lincolnshire as the Junior Games Programmer.

Distinctive's main development team also welcomes three new members. Andrea Redhead joins the Company as a Junior Programmer following completion of her MComp Games Software Development degree at Sheffield Hallam University and will be working closely with Distinctive Tools & Technology team to develop and maintain Distinctive’s proprietary development tools. Matthew While, a former programming intern of Distinctive, will also be returning back to the family as a Graduate Programmer. Last but not least, Ben Homer will join the Distinctive team for the summer as a Junior Programmer.

“The Distinctive team has never been stronger with great people in all roles,” said Nigel Little, Managing Director of Distinctive. “In hiring Ashley, Andrea, Matthew, Ben and Rebecca the team becomes even stronger, taking total staff numbers to 40.”

After developing what were seen as niche sports into massively popular games franchises, such as Rugby Nations, Downhill Xtreme, Hockey Nations and Football Kicks with over 15m new active users acquired in the last 12 months, Distinctive surely knows the value of a great team in making outstanding games.
