Stockholm, Sweden - December 10, 2012 /GameBlast/ - Donya™ Labs, creators of Simplygon™ and the leading provider of automatic 3D-optimization solutions for the video game industry, announced today that Epic Games, Inc., creators of blockbuster games and award-winning game engine technology, is using Simplygon for its highly anticipated "Infinity Blade: Dungeons" and "Gears of War: Judgment."

Earlier this year, Donya teamed up with Epic to release a significant Simplygon integration with Unreal Engine 3 (UE3), the features of which are available to all commercial UE3 licensees and users of the Unreal Development Kit (UDK), the free edition of UE3. This powerful union of tools enables developers to access Simplygon directly from within the Unreal Editor, making it easy for anyone to work with automatic optimization of 3D game assets.

Donya's latest licensing agreement gives Epic the rights to utilize Simplygon for two new titles. The first game covered under the new agreement is "Gears of War: Judgment" for Xbox 360, the fourth game in the billion-dollar "Gears of War" franchise, published by Microsoft Studios  with a worldwide release set for March 2013.  The second title covered under the license is "Infinity Blade: Dungeons" for iOS, is the latest installment in the renowned "Infinity Blade" universe created by Epic's subsidiary, ChAIR Entertainment.  Epic's Impossible Studios is preparing "Infinity Blade: Dungeons" for a 2013 release in collaboration with ChAIR and Epic headquarters.

"Simplygon provides high-quality mesh reduction and time-saving benefits to both Epic and to the Unreal Engine community through our Integrated Partners Program, which brings the best features of leading middleware technologies to developers," said Mark Rein, vice president of Epic Games. "Using Simplygon for our own games ensures that the tools are always meeting the Epic quality bar."

"Our mission is to help developers achieve greater efficiency in game production, and the Integrated Partners Program and our UDK and UE3 integrations put us in direct contact with the large network of talented studios that uses the Unreal Engine", said Ulrik Lindahl, CTO of Donya Labs and original inventor of Simplygon. "Moreover, we are big fans of Epic's games and are extra proud that they are using Simplygon for Gears of War and Infinity Blade."
