Drugbound - Get Weed, Get Smoked, and Get Political in this Free Infinite-Scrolling Platformer

Feb 6, 2013

Slouch Couch Studios founder Dave Homan released his first major title, Drugbound, today to the public. Inspired by his love for independent video game culture and his political opposition to the US War on Drugs, Homan hopes Drugbound will be the first in a long string of “fun games with a purpose,” shining a much-needed light on various sociopolitical issues. When asked why he focused on exposing the Drug War in his first game, Homan answered “Of course it’s an important topic. The US spends over $70 billion dollars a year on a prison industry charged with jailing non-violent offenders, most of which are minorities. It’s a poison to our country’s health. It needs to be talked about.”

About Slouch Couch Games Studios

Slouch Couch started as a game jam team at a Startup Weekend event in September 2011. After collaboration was dissolved, original team lead Dave Homan took the helm and positioned Slouch Couch as a way to use video games to challenge societal norms and reveal the absurdism we've been conditioned to ignore. With gaming more mainstream than ever, especially with the web and mobile markets, Slouch Couch is passionate about using games as a platform to make people think as much as they make them laugh.
