Atlanta, GA – August 3, 2011 — The Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game Expo (SIEGE) today announced that Richard Hilleman, Electronic Arts’ Chief Creative Officer, will deliver the keynote address at its fifth annual expo. Scheduled for Oct. 6 – 9, 2011, at the Marriott NW Atlanta hotel, SIEGE focuses on the fast-growing game design industry in the South.
“Last year we had the creator of the video game industry as our keynote speaker. No one is more qualified to follow that than Hilleman, who has had more influence on the art of game design than almost anyone else,” said Andrew Greenberg, SIEGE director and a partner at Holistic Design, Inc., an Atlanta-based computer game company. “He has dedicated more time and talent to analyzing computer, video, mobile and other types of games than almost anyone.”
Besides leading creative efforts for EA, the world’s leading game development company, Hilleman was the original producer of the “Madden Football” games, taught master production classes at the company’s in-house university, and has worked on dozens of games. “The number of people in the game industry Hilleman has influenced is astounding,” said Greenberg.
Now in its fourth year, SIEGE features leading figures from a wide spectrum of the industry, including artists, programmers, designers, investors, writers, teachers and business executives. Other speakers include government figures, experts on computer game violence, social issues, serious games and more.
The event has attracted a variety of sponsors, including leading companies, universities, and government organizations. Conference sessions include classes on the latest software, game design techniques, business issues, serious games, starting a new company, and more.
