EA COO Peter Moore Joins WMGC Honorary Advisory Board

ChinaJoy World Mobile Game Conference (WMGC) and Expo will be held at Shanghai Pudong Kerry Hotel on July 25 and 26. Recently, the conference officially announced the engagement of EA COO Peter Moore as an honorary advisory board member of WMGC. Meanwhile, Howell International Trade Fair Ltd, the sponsor of WMGC, has officially announced the establishment of the advisory board, with agenda planning, speaker invitation, sponsorship recruitment as well as other preparation works in full swing.

As COO of EA Peter Moore heads the strategic development of one of the world’s most recognized brands in sports and entertainment and is responsible for the development, global management, marketing and planning of all packaged goods and online offerings within the EA brand, including its subsidiary brand EA SPORTS BIG and more than 15 videogame franchises. The product portfolio of EA SPORTS includes Madden NFL, FIFA, NBA LIVE, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR and many other hot-sale games.In FY07, EA SPORTS generated more than US$1 billion of revenue, accounting for about 40 percent of EA’s total revenue. EA SPORTS currently employs a game development staff of more than 1,700.

Mr. Moore has more than 25 years of management experience in areas of entertainment and consumer products. Prior to joining EA, Mr. Moore was Corporate Vice President of the Interactive Entertainment Business of Microsoft Corp., where he was responsible for leading both the Xbox and Games for Windows business. Before joining Microsoft, Mr. Moore was President and COO of SEGA North America. Moore played a pivotal role in the company’s decision to change its business strategy to become a platform-agnostic software publisher, and was responsible for all marketing initiatives, including the launch of SEGA Dreamcast. Prior to his role at SEGA, Moore was Senior Vice President of marketing at Reebok International Ltd. 

As the think tank of WMGC, the advisory board will be responsible for the content planning, agenda guidance, speaker selection and recommendation of WMGC. With regard to the industry development, the advisory board will also help the WMGC Organizing Committee further enhance industry communication and cooperation between domestic and foreign companies. Joining WMGC’s advisory board will enable more and more mobile game professionals both home and abroad to benefit from this and to jointly promote the fast, stable and healthy development of the mobile game industry, so as to enable the mutual growth of the mobile game industry both in China and around the world.
