Future Publishing, the leading games media group, today announces the promotion of Alex Wiltshire to Editor of Edge magazine and the appointment of Nathan Brown as Online Editor for the brand.
Alex joined Edge as Deputy Editor in 2007, having previously worked on architecture and design magazine Icon. Nathan has been freelancing as News Writer on Edge’s website since December 2010.
Alex says: "I wanted to work for Edge when I decided I wanted to be a journalist, so getting to edit the magazine is a dream come true. There's still no game magazine like it and it remains as essential as it’s ever been. As the industry continues its massive growth and development, I have exciting plans to drive the magazine forwards."
Nathan says: "This is an amazing opportunity. I have loved Edge for years, both as a reader and during my time as a freelancer. I am absolutely thrilled to be leading the continued evolution of Edge’s online activity."
Richard Keith, Publisher of Edge, says: “With Alex’s promotion to Editor and Nathan’s appointment to Online Editor, Edge has an unrivalled depth of talent and experience. These changes represent the first part of our plan to grow the Edge brand globally. The Edge audience can expect to see a host of changes, improvements and new activity scheduled over the next few months as we reveal how the brand is changing to reflect the new realities of the games industry.”
Tony Mott continues in his role as Editor-in-Chief of Edge, but with an expanded remit. His responsibilities now include developing a variety of projects for the Edge brand, including a new, dedicated iPad edition.
Multi-format videogame magazine Edge was first published in 1993. Since launch, it was won the MCV award for Best Magazine Team and six Magazine Of The Year awards from InDin and the Games Media Awards.
