Electronic Sports League improves website performance with Intel®-based Supermicro servers

Cologne, April 21, 2011– Electronic Sports League (ESL), Europe's largest league for computer games, published a technical case study on the use of Intel®-based Supermicro servers. Over 40,000 users simultaneously access the ESL website at peak time every day. With the new Intel®-based Supermicro servers the performance of the ESL website has increased by 33 percent. The webserver render time improved by about 40 percent from 376 to 222 milliseconds. The new Supermicro servers make the ESL website more energy efficient– the server farm park requires 11 percent less energy, the improved remote control system reduces costs and saves money for maintenance and tours to the data center.
