The launch video showcases the maximum-impact racing, bone-rattling destruction game modes, freestyle Hoonigan events and multiplayer party games set to take centre stage on DiRT Showdown’s World tour of motorised mayhem. From Miami to LA and San Francisco to Yokohama, the trailer features drivers taking down their rivals, boosting to overtake, hitting jumps and performing stunts as they go for the win across DiRT Showdown’s wide range of game modes. These impressive results were recorded by RaceNet†, the free new online extension for Codemasters Racing games that tracks and rewards player achievements. RaceNet launched in Beta mode alongside the DiRT Showdown Demo and will add extra functionality to mark the retail release of the game.
New features in the update will include players being invited to take part in regular community challenges and RaceNet events and the ability to add other RaceNet members as friends. Gamers will be able to earn new RaceNet Awards and XP which can be viewed on a new Driver Profile page and additional new pages will reflect the status of Showdown Challenges and enable players to compare best times and scores with their friends across a range of game modes. DiRT Showdown will deliver a new world of competitive and combative racing as players race, crash and hoon their way to ‘Showdown’ finals to perform in front of thousands of fans when it launches May 25th for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and PC.
A special ‘Hoonigan’ edition of DiRT Showdown is available exclusively from GAME and Gamestation. Sporting unique packaging, the DiRT Showdown: Hoonigan Edition will include an in-game cash boost, an online XP multiplier plus Monster Energy liveries for the Kohler D350, Duke Coupe and Ford Fiesta Gymkhana 3 and Hoonigan liveries for the Holbrook Growler, Logan Vulture and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X JUN, redeemed via an online code.
