European growth sees Green Man Gaming bolster senior team

19/01/12  – Green Man Gaming ( - Europe’s fastest-growing independent digital PC games retailer, has strengthened its senior management team ahead of significant international expansion with four major appointments – including talent from Game Group’s digital team and Twitter.

Following Green Man Gaming’s (GMG) European store launches late last year in Czech Republic, Germany, Austria and Switzerland and its recently announced streaming partnership with Gaikai, has ambitious plans for further growth in 2012.  With backing from Eden Ventures, GMG has appointed respected industry figures to newly created Commercial Director, Chief Financial Director, Technical Director and Head of Trading and E-Commerce positions – as it readies itself for further growth.

Paul Howes, Commercial Director, joins GMG from his role as General Manager, Digital Services at Game Group – where he was responsible for developing the group’s digital initiatives and revenues. With more than 15 year’s experience in games and entertainment, Paul was previously Regional Business Director for Metaboli, and prior to this held senior roles at Mindscape and Infogrames. Paul’s objective is to deliver GMG’s digital growth strategy and drive global revenue.

Callum Jay, becomes Chief Financial Officer, moving to GMG from Miniweb Interactive, where he spent three years as Finance Director for the cloud-based digital video distribution platform which was sold last summer.  Callum was previously Head of Business Development for Eidos – working across the company’s leading brands for over five years; including Batman, Hitman and Tomb Raider. Callum is joining the team to focus on GMG’s financial growth strategy, corporate governance and shareholder management.

Lee Packham returns to Green Man Gaming following a year-long stint developing Tweetdeck at Twitter – and is appointed the company’s Technical Director.  With over seven years experience in gaming and social media sectors, Lee worked closely with Managing Director Paul Sulyok to create GMG’s innovative retail platform prior to launch in 2010.  Lee is briefed to head up further develop the company’s proprietary technology for continued expansion in 2012 and beyond.

Robert Kinder, becomes Head of Trade Marketing and E-Commerce.  Joining GMG from his role as Online Marketing Manager for Codemasters - he takes responsibility for proposition development, merchandising, promotional marketing and social media strategy.
