Evolve in London has scored a massive coup by securing Facebook’s Gareth Davis to present the conference’s opening keynote.
Evolve in London, which is the sister event of Europe’s leading game developer conference Develop in Brighton, takes place on 1 December 2011 at De Vere West One.
Davis – formerly with Electronic Arts, Sega and Pixar and now platform manager for games at the legendary social site – will give Evolve in London delegates invaluable insight into creating social games on desktop, console and mobile for the world’s largest social gaming platform. In September 2011, Facebook had notched up 800 million active users worldwide and over 200 million people play games on Facebook each month.
"We’re delighted that Gareth Davis is opening the second Evolve in London conference and that we’re able to provide our delegates with a rare glimpse behind the scenes of Facebook," commented Andy Lane, managing director of Evolve in London organiser Tandem Events.
“In a relatively short space of time, Facebook has emerged as a leading platform for games, igniting the social game revolution. Until recently, it was a platform dominated by Zynga, the developer behind the phenomenally successful Farmville and Cityville titles. But in recent times, traditional videogames stalwarts, such as EA with Sims Social, have proved that they’re ready to take a piece of the social gaming pie so Gareth’s keynote provides the perfect platform for developers to learn more about the opportunities that are out there.”
