“HTML 5 support is showing up in all major browsers, including Chrome,” says Jamie Gotch, co-founder of Subatomic Studios.  “This means huge things for games.  We wanted to throw our hat in the ring with an updated, HTML 5 version of Fieldrunners, and the Chrome Web Store seemed like a great place to launch it.”

This new, HTML 5 version of Fieldrunners was designed with modern gamers in mind.  Using the contemporary “Free to Play” model, gamers get access to the first of eight maps for free.  If they want more action, each additional map can be had for $0.99, or they can purchase the complete map pack for $4.99 - cheaper than any version to date.

“Fans have been asking for a free version of Fieldrunners since it launched in 2008, so we’re thrilled to give it to them,” said Alec Shobin, Marketing and PR Manager at Subatomic Studios. “Analytics in the recently launched Android version prove that the Grasslands map is one of the most popular levels for beginners, and now they’ll be able to play it for free right in their browsers.”
