IRVINE, CALIFORNIA -- September 9, 2010 -- Atlus U.S.A., Inc., today launched the seventh and final video short for Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City, the third chapter in the acclaimed series of exploration RPGs for Nintendo DS TM , coming to stores this month. The latest video warns players about the most fearsome monster in the Labyrinth, the dreaded FOE, and what to expect when they encounter one. Each video short gives fans a closer look at what they can expect from their journey and provides helpful information about character creation, naval exploration, combat system, map making, side quests, enemies, and more.
The embodiment of adventure and discovery in the purest sense, Etrian Odyssey III transports gamers to a sparkling oceanic paradise filled with atmospheric dungeons to chart and survey, vast watery expanses to sail across, and rumors of a sunken city to investigate. Aspiring explorers are responsible for charting their travels utilizing the intuitive touchscreen map editor, meaning that careless cartography could easily spell doom for a fatigued party trying to escape danger. Powerful challenges demand cunning and strategy: players will assemble and fully customize their party of adventurers from a variety of highly specialized classes and sub-classes. For the patient and prepared, fame and fortune await.
A limited edition first-run "Explorer's Poster" is included free the first manufacturing run of Etrian Odyssey III. The dual-sided, collectible poster is a full-color, two-sided affair: on one, a lush collage of characters set against the crystal blue backdrop of Armoroad's seas. On the other, skill trees for all of the starting character classes, offering fledgling adventurers invaluable insight for their crucial initial customization decisions. "Forests Of Eternity," the official Etrian Odyssey III pre-order bonus art book, is only available from participating retailers while supplies last.
Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City is scheduled to release September 21, 2010 for Nintendo DS. For more information, and to view all the video shorts, visit the official website: www.atlus.com/etrian3.
