Pleasanton, CA - May 2, 2012 – Fork Particle, the leader in particle effects technology for games and simulations, released Fork Particle SDK version 5. The toolkit adds a brand new slick user interface look and Effects Director a major feature which enables particle effects sequencing to achieve the next level of visual effects quality and graphics realism.
Fork Particle specializes in developing advanced real-time particle effects technology solutions. The technology enables many types of visual effects such as fire effects, explosions effects, smoke effects, rain effects, fountain effects, fog effects, and fireworks effects. Fork Particle’s particle engine has been optimized for high performance and includes a powerful and feature rich particle editor tool. The Fork Particle’s solution adaptability and effectiveness in enabling top quality particle effects has made it a component of several commercial games and simulation products.
Fork’s Effects Director feature adds a new dimension to particle effects authoring in the Fork Particle Studio editor. Visual effects artists can sequence particle effects stages on a timeline to create multi-stage special effects. For example a sequence of sparks or small explosion effects can be followed by a large explosion effect. In addition, the visual effects designer can add event signals at any point in the timeline to trigger custom user behaviour such as environment lighting changes, sound effects, or screen brightness change. The Effects Director user interface shows visual timelines which are easily manipulated to adjust sequence timing and other behaviour controls.
“We find it very exciting to add new cutting edge technology to the Fork Particle toolkit. In line with how Particle System effects can play a vital role to enhance graphics quality in video games and simulations, this major version release will enable exciting movie-like quality special effects sequences for the ultimate impact,” says Noor Khawaja, founder and CEO at Fork Particle.
